Our commitment to making this website accessible to everyone.

Our commitment
Drake Simpson Strategy is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or the technology used to access it. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Accessibility is not a one-time effort. We treat it as an ongoing responsibility and regularly review our pages to identify and address any barriers to access.
Standards we follow
This website has been built with the following accessibility principles and features:
- Semantic HTML: All pages use semantic elements including
<nav>,<main>,<header>,<footer>, and<article>to convey document structure to assistive technologies. - Skip-to-content link: Every page includes a skip-to-content link at the top, allowing keyboard users to bypass the navigation and move directly to the main content.
- ARIA labels: Interactive elements such as the navigation toggle, mobile menu, dark mode button, and cookie consent banner include appropriate
aria-label,aria-expanded,aria-hidden, andaria-modalattributes. - Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. The mobile menu includes a focus trap to prevent focus from leaving the overlay, and the Escape key closes it.
- Reduced motion support: Animations are disabled when a user has enabled the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting in their operating system or browser. Scroll-triggered reveal animations are skipped entirely in this mode. - Focus-visible outlines: Custom focus styles ensure that keyboard focus is clearly visible across all interactive elements, using outlines that meet contrast requirements.
- Dark mode: A dark colour scheme is available via the toggle button in the bottom-right corner of every page. The preference is persisted across visits and respects the system-level preference on first load.
- Touch targets: Interactive elements such as buttons, links, and the navigation toggle meet a minimum size of 44 × 44 pixels to ensure comfortable use on touch devices.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas where accessibility could be improved, and we are working to address them:
- Some decorative SVG icons may lack explicit
role="presentation"oraria-hidden="true"attributes. These are non-functional icons that do not convey essential information. - Colour contrast on certain low-opacity text elements (such as footer copyright text and breadcrumb separators) may fall below WCAG AA thresholds in some viewing conditions.
- The site does not currently include a text-resize control, though it responds to browser-level zoom and text scaling.
